YES WE KNOW. . .about RE92's

I don't know if this annoys anyone, but it annoys me to no end.

YES, YES, we have all heard it.

RE92 is the worst tire to put on a wrx. Why keep posting about how bad RE92's are ?

You get what you pay for, they came free with the car, the suck in dry weather, they suck in wet weather, they are bad at accelerating, they suck under braking conditions, they shouldn't be taken to the snow.

STOP POSTING ABOUT HOW BAD THEY ARE ! Time to move on, don't be chinsy and pretend it matters, save up and get yourself some decent tires.

Felt like getting that off my chest,
Austin

aren't the sti tires free when u purchase an Sti? They are apparently some of the best tires available... so just because "its free" though it isn't, doesn't mean anything.

I have asked myself many times WTF Subaru was thinking when they put those tires on a 'high-performance' car. Oh well, they were good enough to get the car home

No the attatchment I had with the word free is the stock RE-92's that are on the WRX when bought, are there for regular people to drive on, not to be auto-Xed or drag raced. They came 'free' and so there should be no attatchment to them because they came with the car, a brand new set of tires 400. Just my logic

I just thought I'd contribute by saying RE92s rox0r!!!!! I mean, name another tire that sux on dry, wet, AND snow. Name another tire that is noisy and sux at all of these. Sure you can, but its gotta be about as rare as tires like the Falken Azenis Sports!

Just as a side note though, aren't they pretty good safety wise/for begginning performance drivers? and ok for RallyX? I mean the difference between slip and grip is pretty small allowing recovery much easier, plus the speed at which you'd lose it is lower allowing easier reaction!

Ok, I'm done being retarded :banana:

They were thinking all seasons for an awd vehicle.

The RE92's aren't a bad compromise. I had no trouble on them in the Sierra's the first winter I had my car. You just have to be respectful of conditions and get used to the ABS massage on your foot when you brake.

This pisses me off as well. If you don't like something about the car, change it.

Why complain about it. If you hate the tires so much you shouldn't have bought the car. People change exhausts, stereos, computers, shifters, and wheels so why not change the tires when you bought the car. I did. Hey, btw, I still have a set of stock wheels and tires sitting in my garage. They only have about 10k miles on them since I've used them off and on when I only had summer tires on my other set of wheels. Stock tires and wheels are for sale btw.

this might be a stupid question, some guys here in hawaii think that the RE92's are actually good for the drag and they say that stickier tires are not really good because of the tranny and it might not able to handle it(something like that).i plan on dragging about early january and was wondering if i should put my RE92's back on or just leave my kumho ecsta mx, what do you guys think?

positive/negative comments welcome...

Ouch,

And to answer the question, for the guys who may have a problem with sidestepping the clutch or dumping the clutch creating massive force, when the tires don't grip (letting horsepower go somewhere since no traction available) then it results in less stress on transmissions, when you have grippy tires such as toyo RA-1 tires, then you are going to do the same thing, but when you let the clutch out there is no outlet for power besides the tires, resulting in transmission exposions.

I still think RE-92's are $#lT
