widest tire for 2002 wrx stock rims?

widest tire for 2002 wrx stock rims?
Hey guys,
As the title says I'm trying to figure out the widest tire size I can wrap around the stock wrx rims of 16X6.5. Currently I have some azenis in 225/50/16 wrapped on them. I put up a thread a couple months back asking this same question HOWEVER I recently read somewhere on nasioc that the 225/50/16 is the widest STREET tire you can run. I was thinking about switching over to a race slick like the kumho v710s and was wondering is 225/50/16 still only the widest I can go? If I can go wider, how much wider, and do I need to roll the fenders or anything.
The car has koni yellow struts and swift springs.

Car Info: 2006 OBP WRX STI, 95 honda civic.
I know ths is an older thread but just saw it. I used to have an 02' wrx and had a set of 245/45/16's on the stock rims wth no problems. I didn't track the car so I didnt test them in those conditons, but did fine for DD.
