whos got 19s?

Im looking into getting Axis Neos but they only come in 19s or 17 and i was hoping for 18s. Weight isnt bad at about 24 lbs each. The biggest question i have is about the tires. Are 35 series enough rubber to protect the rim from bending easliy? Is it that much more then say what a 40 series 18 inch tire would have. I know it deals with width and im looking at 225s.

Anyone have suggestions for me, experiences, or pics?

24lbs each is hella heavy imo. personally i don't like how 19s look on a wrx. i wouldn't go larger than 18".

Here is a pic of Axis 19's that I just love. Its for show, but it is sooooo seeectsaaay. I'd never put 24 pounders on my car, but if i was show queen? Sure, maybe.

Thanks for everyones opinions so far...

It has nothing to do with "needing" 19s. Its an added look. The car in the above pictures would not look the same with 17s.

Anyway not everyone is about saving tenths of a second by keeping wheel weight down a little. When is that extra 30 lbs or so really gonna help me? I dont plan on giong to track, i bought the car to get me through New England winters not to run 12s. I sacrificed looks for practicality and am just looking to improve appearance as much as possible in the summer.

30lbs on the car is no big deal. But 30 lbs of unsprung weight is huge. That weight will cause a noticable decrease in performance, not just on the track. If I were that concerned about appearance and didn't care about performance I would buy an RS and put on a hood scoop and 19s. It would be hella cheaper than a WRX and I wouldn't have to worry about that pesky acceleration.

I only added about 4.5 pounds per wheel with tires and i was scared. Stock rims weigh 16.5 lbs. Your adding almost 7 lbs per wheel. If you plan ongoing with the 19's thats cool but try to buy lighter tires.You may not care about speed but that extra weight will add stress to the bearings and spindles, and drive shafts, and diff's. Whoa thats a lot of maintenance. I do think that those pics are cool though. Also you might want to lower your car a little(1") with springs. That may make 17's look better.

Yeah, the stocker rims are smaller, so it would be easier for them to be so light.
I would think the tires would be heavier as stock, since they have alot of sidewall.

In that case, they may balance out more than it might seem when just considering the weight of the rim.

Anyone know what the combined weight of the stock rim and tire is??

Stock tires are 21lbs. Most wider tires with LESS sidewall weigh more. The increased tire weight is also more of a negative than the heavy wheels. With just the 30lbs gained from the wheels you would be adding the equivalent of approximately 240lbs to your car. Add tires and that will increase. Like I said, if looks are that much more important than performance, why buy a WRX?
