Wheel repainting???
Hi, I was wondering if any of you dabbled in repainting your OE wheels or any wheels for that matter. I bought some 17's a while ago and wanted to use the OE wheels for rallycross with some wintermaster snow tires to double as winter rubber as well. To add a little more pizzaz I wanted to paint them gold or yellow. As my Tarmacs are gold and I really like that color much better. I know VHT makes a gold wheel paint, but that's pretty much all I've found and I don't know how it would hold up. I'm open too getting it done professionally as well, but it seems so expensive. I appreciate any and all info. Thanx guys.

i think powder coating runs $80 to $100 per wheel
the best and most inexpensive way to go since you will not be using these all the time is to just spray paint them. i know duplicolor makes some paint that holds up over time, i know it sounds like crap but i have seen it done a few times and comes out very well. and for less than 10 bucks you can't beat it

It cost me $75.00 per wheel for powdercoating. Painting and /or repainting the wheel is a cheaper way, but will not be as good overall. The paint will chip over time and you will have to repaint the wheel all over again. If you really like the color and want it to last, powdercoating is a way to go.
