What are the lightest 17x7.5 wheels for the WRX? Please list manufacturer and weight. I'm thinking the Volks have got to be in the running, nut I can't find any weights. Thanks.

Dexter, What do you have thats not in the 300 to 400 price range thats still a light wheel. Doesnt have to be 12 pounds even like 16 doesnt sound bad.
OZ Superleggera - 15lbs. $280 (17x7)
Kazeera KZ-V - 17lbs. $129 (17x7)
ASA FR1 - 18.5lbs. $239 (17x7.5)
ASA JS1 - 19.5lbs. $119 (17x7)
Mille Miglia HT3 - 20.5lbs. $179 (17x7)
Hey Dexter, just out of curiosity, how much do my 16x7 SSR Comp's weigh? I've heard 9.5 and 10.5, but would like a true figure.
and dexter, is there any truth to the rumors that the comps are easily bent?
Bending? Many wheels get bad raps because people go from 16 to 18" and bend a wheel - so the wheel is automatically trash. I'll say it again - any wheel that touches the road will bend. To concede though, the SSR may have a lower load capacity than a 30lb. forged wheel - which would only be noticed while carrying beyond the max load capacity in your car. I've never had a situation where one has bent without a road hazard of some sort - and I've had a 17x7.5 set on my wagon for about 40k miles with no problems whatsoever.

okay, cool. i have another question for you dexter. being the total effing retard that i am, i drove up part of a curb with my front wheel today. you know where the curb lowers to turn into a driveway, it was about halfway up one of those. of course having 40 series rubber didn't help, but the curb actually contacted the rim of the wheel and bent it ever so slightly. the rim protector thingy on the kumho 712 got torn a bit, but the tire still looks to be in pretty good condition. my question is this: what is the worst case scenario if i leave it how it is. the wheel is barely bent and the extra rubber they put on the tire to "protect the rim" is ripped a little (half an inch maybe). i realize that as a professional, you have to tell me that i should throw away the wheel and tire (and then try to sell me 4 new wheels and tires ). but what i'm looking for is for you to say, you'll probably be okay as long as you don't get any vibrations. i can also take a pic or two if that would help. thanks.
oh and dex, why don't you guys carry volks, advans, and other sweet "jdm" wheels? it seems like you guys could do for them exactly what you've done for tires: buy tons of them, cut cost, and sell them for cheap. and make an ishload of money doing it. just a question.

These types of questions are usually better handled verbally... Anyway, any situation that may compromise the ability of the tire or wheel to do its job raises concern. You will make the decision, but, I can't recommend using a damaged tire/wheel.
As far as wheel brands - I don't make the decision on which brands we carry. We try to carry brands exclusively, which gives us more influence over their styling and manufacturing process.

Dropkick_Muppet: I have a '00 Impreza L, so for me 16x7 was a plus one fitment. Also, I went with 16's because a) they were $60 cheaper than 17's, b) 16's have less chance of being damaged on these messed up NY roads. I would hate to hit a pothole or something and ruin one of my SSR's. I am running 205/50/16 Yokohama AVS ES100's, and I'm really happy so far. Anything was better than the stock 195/60/15 RE92's on steelies.
