I have the midnight black '03 WRX sedan. Honestly, it's a matter of individual taste and what one person likes, another won't. When choosing the SSR comps, I thought anthracite just looked like "dirty wheels", so i didn't go there. Gold paint looks great with black but I didn't want to draw too much attention to me and my ride...I like the sleeper look and gold is too pimp for that. The other problem I have with gold paint is that's it the trim color choice for status-seekers. Like when suckers buy the fully loaded, fully optioned versions of Lexus and Jeep...then they deserve to get the gold trim on their cars. If I wanted to buy a junior status-seeker car instead of a no-frills performance car like the WRX, then I would have bought one of the entry level Mercedes cars or an A-4.

The silver worked for me. And SSR comps (and the BBS rims) will get a lot of attention in any color.

a second thought. It's much easier to make a color choice on any wheel for the impreza besides the BBS. because the WRC impreza has gold rims, it seems like everyone does BBS in gold. in fact a BBS in any color other than gold looks almost freakish to me.

 

Gold=Bling, Silver=Subtle

 

i'd go for silver. the black & gold look, though JDM, is getting a little old. black & silver is subtle enough to outlast most color scheme fads.

of course, if you're gonna get a set of rims every year or two, it isn't a big deal.

I'm getting black rims and red wheel locks. I like to go for the sinister look. I think they make BBS rims in black.
