The 235/40-18s are about 25.5" tall and will be a close fit. An offset around 48-50 will get you your best chance but will end up close to the strut as well as the fender with an 8" wheel. I'll need to defer expertise on this exact fitment to STi owners that have tried it.

Theoretically, the tire size would be a great blend for the STi. The slightly increased diameter and width are just what the Dr. ordered on the STi with its huge torque.

Bump for updates Dexter. Still just the ASA and SSR GT7? I will need something in 17x7 or 17x7.5 if I end up with the STi Brembos.

Right-o. The SSR Comps are due in on January 30th - in 17x8.5 offset 48. The ASA KA3-S and the GT7 are both 7.5" wide and currently in stock.

Comps will be only anthracite and silver - coming in 1st week of February. GT7 is currently available in gold, grey (like anthracite) and silver.

No gold? That is rediculous. A wheel with a +48 offset that is obviously made for a Subaru and no gold? Sorry.. I guess I'll have to go with the Advans. Lightweight and Inexpensive is very important, but I just can't compromise on 'winning gold' wheels.

Did you buy wheels not knowing if they'd fit? I'm pretty sure they don't clear the brembos. I looked at volk wheels myself and usually you have to custom order ones for the 05 sti. It looks like you ordered the offset group B wheels which don't clear the brembos. Rays website says group A clears brembos.

Urgent OZ superleggera fitment ?

Anybody run OZ superleggera's on an 04 STi yet...

I'm looking at picking up a set of 18x8 with 225/40/18 rubber, 51mm offset.

I've heard that OZ custom made wheels at 48mm for this application. Will the 3mm make a diff, I would think that 51mm offset would be enough.

^^^try to get at least 235 for your width for 8in tires. i have a friend who has 225/40 on 18x8 on his 04sti and it isn't that flush looking. i have 18x8.5 wheels w/ 245/40/18 tires on my 04sti dropped on prodrives and no rubbing. my wheels are +48 and im runnig the kdw nt tires. hope this helps. wider is better

my main concern is the wheel fitment at this point, im picking them up used and the tires on them are toasted so the size of new rubber is an easy choice

anybody try 18x8 51mm offset superleggera's on an 04 sti? If I have to use spacers I probly wont buy these wheels, I'll wait till I come across a set with the 48mm offset. Anybody experienced if the 3mm in offset difference will cause em to not clear the stock brembos?
