I'm glad I ordered SSR Competitions. Forged or even semi-forged would be/was my choice. The Rotas are nicely priced, but that picture says a thousand words. I have heard that Rota stands behind their product, but that's not going to pay for the damage to the rest of the car.

Yes, the pictures above were from early attacks that passed JWL VIA standards for 5x100 PCD which was 505 kg. It seems that these standards are not enough for our Subaru that is why we have upgraded them to 690 kg on the second and succeding batches.

I have to say thanks to Luke again,
put the SSR Comps on today and they were quite a bit lighter than the stock wheel/tire combo. Go to a wider wheel and tire and shave weight off an already light package. Had a local speed shop owner say he was never more happy with his WRX than with light 16" wheels and tires. He had 17s, 18s, and 19s, and said the acceleration, suspension, and braking felt better with the 16s. I've only ever had the stock 16s, but could still feel a difference with the lighter package. My $0.02, opinions will/do vary.

Can't beat Volks for quality....super tough, light and proven. My first choice.
OZ SL's are great value, light and cheap. Second place.
SSR Comps, super light, but maybe a bit too easy to bend compared to the others.
Rotas. The number of pictures I've seen of cracked wheels just scares me. I'd stay away. Most other wheels just seem to bend, but the Rotas just seem to break.

when you got the wheels, were they cracked that you could see,(stupid question), or were they hairline impossible to see, and how musch were they, and were did you get them(or how) by mail, or did you7 just pick them up. I live in pa, and am lookig to get a set my self, keep the stock for snow tires, and get a set of 17's for the summer. how much do they normaly run for the set, or were a good place to get them.

It depends on how hard you drive, as well as where you take them. I've heard of SSR Comps bending. I drive hard, more on tarmac. Stretch your money for the Volks. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Especially if you want to be different. I see too many people with Rotas out there.

buying rims that are forged will reduce the risk of bend ing and denting.
but a rim will still bend.
i have a set of volk te-37's on my wrx and they bent by just commuting.
and i have a set of volk gt-c's on my nsx and they already have a slight bend in them.
so its really about how you drive.
