i got mine a few days ago from tirerack (bruce) for $375 per wheel for the 17x7.5. i also bout S03's in 225/45 mounted
on them. total came out to like $2200 something. not bad.
its an awesome wheel. no complaints everything about it,
i like.
oh yah, that includes the locks too.

yah, not to sound **** or anything, but SSR's are the real deal. they are preformance wheels weighing in at 12.7lbs semi-forged.
your bro's ace wheels are cool, they are dressup wheels for
the street. i like those wheels for what they are, but if you
want a performance wheel, you have to pay for its special
manufacturing process. if you're going for looks and streeting
around, check out like 5zigen, Volk pro57's (same price as the
SSR's), ADR, MilleMilgia (one of my favorite dressup wheels),
Giovanna, etc.

I have my SSRs from Tirerack as well - for GC8, I say go for the new 16" if you want performance - they are like 10lbs each. Otherwise, the 17" are good enough. These are not your normal dress up wheels - semi-solid forged, and there are some reports of them bending under various potholes, though nothing happened with mine. I don't think for 17" you can get anything cheaper than $375 per rim, let alone finding some place with the right size and offset for Subaru other than tirerack.

yep, mine are 50mm with 225/45/17. the tires are pretty
close to the fender, so i would not go any less than 50 with
these S03's.
with my 52mm mille's, i was running 225/45/17 sumitomo HTR+.
definitely had another 15mm clearance to the fender, so it
depends on the tire you get too.
