Should I buy these O.Z Ultraleggera

I am looking at a set of O.Z from tirerack for $1400. I really love the wheels and plan on buying them but was wondering if you guys had any experience with O.Z such as quality, durability, and performance. My 05 Subaru WRX STi is pushing well over 400WHP and i figure having these lighter wheels will help performance. Thanks

Specs :Offset:
18x8
$357 (each)
48mm
Backspacing: 6.37"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:225/40-18
Weight: 18.4lbs.

How they would look

The stock STI wheels are almost certainly lighter than these, but OZ are quality rims.

oz racing wheels are nice. strong and lightweight but unfortunately resale value generally blows on them. If you plan on buying those wheels, i would say shop locally before buying from tire rack as they are pretty pricey.
I figure you should go 18x8.5 or 18x9.

I've never seen actual weights on them, but that seems high for a forged 17" rim. My 16" Volks were only around 10.5 lbs ea.

*just found it on nasioc - 15.5lbs for an 04 STI BBS which are 7.5" and about 19.2 for the 05 and up, which are 8".

forged wheels doesnt mean light weight. Forged is for structural integrity purposes only. 19.2 pounds sounds about right. I highly doubt the 04 are only 15.5 pounds though. I guess if its from nasioc it should be pretty close to specs. Thanks for the info!

Yes, forged typically WILL mean lighter weight in addition to the added strength, which is why forged rims are a benefit (one piece forged rim). A lighter rim gives you less unsprung weight, offering better tracking of the ground. That does not guarantee that a cast and machined rim cannot be as light.

I suppose most cases a single piece forged would be lighter than casted.

LOL. I sold my Volks to a dude on CL. He asked "How do I know these are REAL?" I told him "Pick one up." He did, and he nodded

Too bad they didn't fit the wagon, or I would have kept them.

Hey thanks for all your comments and suggestions everyone. I was going to purchase them soon but i figure i should hold off and buy them once i get back to the states. I really wanted to mount some Volks on but after looking up the price i ran away clutching my wallet! Budget is $2100 as a wheel and tire package shipping included.
