R-Compound Tires Review & Choices

Hi All!

I have 205/40 15" Toyo Proxes RA1 on my low grade JDM MY00 WRX NA w/ STI Adjustable Suspension

I am thinking of going to 17" fairly soon and looking for a better R Compound tire for my Pra (Subaru name, resulting from extensive name calling for the impreza).

I am thinking of the BridgeStone Potenza RE55S, Yokohama Advan AD048 and most of all, Pirelli PZero Corsa.

The Pirelli are use alot in tarmac racing here in Barbados and the wrc by subaru.

Is there anyone out there that have gone through different brands of R-Tire that can give a good review on them (except for the Bridgestone which is Japanese spec)?

I am looking for dry and wet performance, very hot conditions, very wet areas performance, tread wear, cornering performance and so on.

Thanks

I would add the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups to your list. I have run them for the last year on the track and am very happy with them. Wonderful cornering ability and decent tread wear (6 track days on them now and they still have at least 2-3 more). I have not run them in the wet, so I can't tell you how they would perform there.

Great. There are also down, but I cannot list all. Have you always run the Mics?

They have been the only R compound I've run on the track. I'm thinking about them or the Pirelli's when this set wears out.

Yep I know. I have been running them for 2 years now, less than 4 months on the MY00.

Tread wear looks good. But since I do not have 17", I could not try the others; Hence my question to the forum.
