potholes > 18" rota subzeros
what the subject says. i bent the hell out of mine one some potholes. after seeing pics of other subzero failures, i can't personally say they're as strong as they're made out to be.
oh wells, back to stockers and ramen noodles so i can save up for a good set of forged rims

I go over a lot of potholes in my Limix Linea BE-5's... they're 18", and they've been able to handle a few LARGE Philly potholes. Although they are only semi-forged, they are supposedly much stronger than cast.
I agree about the Rota Subzeros. I've seen way too many spoke failures and bent rims to even consider them.

Just to let you guys know.
There have been only 4 subzero failures. All wheels from this batch were machined wrong. All the wheels from this batch have been acounted for and there are no more wheels out on the roads.
So you guys do not have to worry.

yah, if you're going for a dressup cast wheel, expect to pay for a heavy wheel. they are more robust. paying less for a
light cast wheel could introduce trouble. but then again, they're
so cheap that you can get 6 wheels for the price of 4.
robustness also comes from the design as well. more spokes
is usually stronger on the rim than a standard 5spoke.
taking everything into consideration, i went with a 5 double spoke
22lbs heavy cast dressup wheel which comes hubcentric and 52mm offset (perfect). very strong, no vibations, very nice looking and handling/steering geometry is not distorted and
half of what I paid for the SSR wheels on my prelude.![Big Grin](https://www.i-club.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
the new SDR's might be pretty strong compared to the subzero's.

Ouch.
I hit a pothole with 3 people in my car ( 17" with Eibach's) the other day... I figured i wrecked the rim... was fine tho. BBS wheeks take an asskicking I'll tell you that much.
