From my understanding the so3s are a bit heavy, yet have some nice and stiff sidewalls and should be one of the best performance tires out there. The Ps2 rank about the same as so3, much lighter, but hear cornering isnt as crisp. the GSD3 are Awesome in wet and handle nicely in dry, overheats on high speed cornering and tracking. KDW2 i hear are a lot of drifters top choices of tires, very cheap, handles nicely in dry and wet.
What do you think?

For street driving, any of the 4 would work. but the S03s have the best turn-in, best feedback, and stand up to abuse the best. That's conjecture on my part concerning the PS2s and KDW2s; I've only run S03s and GSD3s. And for what it's worth, I'm pretty much the only one *****ing about the GSD3s dying on the track. But, an extra $.02 worth, I just bought another set of S03s today.

yeaa im debating between ps2 and so3 right now. i heard from 1 or 2 other people about the eagle f1 gsd3 overheating on track, suppose to have realllly good treadwear though, according to tirerack results. ps2 also looks like i has a lot better treadwear then so3 on tirerack, but one bimmer guy mentioned his ps2s went out in about 4,000 miles!!! =O he didnt mention tracking, autox, but i duno.

I've driven on both the S03's and the PS2's. All I can say is that the PS2's are super nice for daily. And work well in both wet and dry conditions. They also will hold there own at the Track. Sidewalls are a bit softer but I didn't notice any loss in grip and the tires didn't rollover. Don't know about how many track days they would last compaired to the S03's. My S03's lasted about 6 or 7 track days and they were still not corded.
I've have the PS2's now but am going to just use them for street or if we end up with a wet track day for some reason.
Oh, and the PS2's are quite!!!!! I voted PS2's. And I would stay away from the KDW2's if you are doing any track days.

I wouldn't say "much" heavier... and the weight and 'harshness' come from the stiffer sidewall, which is a big plus for it. S03s are a bit less expensive, and probably the better tire for hard driving. Plenty of people swear by the PS2s like I do the S03s though. I wouldn't fault anyone for buying either.

im about to buy tires this week. definately debating between the two tires: ps2 and so3. bascially the one i want to buy is the one with best treadwear. they seem to both have 220, but a few people say the ps2 go out very very quickly compared to the so3, yet on tirerack.com survey it shows how ps2 treadwear is a lot superior to the so3
im going to be doing a lot of hard cornering such as auto-x, therfore i dont want the sidewalls to be rolling like my es100 always do and my side tread to be wearing out crazy fast. im planning to have front around 40 psi, rear maybe 38 (for my 235/40/17). anyone else had experience with these two?
so3=24lbs
ps2=21lbs
es100=25lbs???
the es100 are that heavy? according to tirerack// cant be right =o

The S03s are usually cheaper, unless you're pricing them at a Firestone tire center.
I have no experience with the PS2s, just what I've read from other people that autocross/track on them. The dual-compound of the PS2s can cause what looks like uneven wear on the shoulders. Plus, the S03s have stiffer sidewalls, which IMO is as important as all-out grip for autocross. I'd go with the Bridgestones, especially with the $100 rebate they have right now.
