Plastidip
Have any of you guys heard of plastidip? My friend I bought my WRX from suggested I try it on my rims to change the colors rather than get them powdercoated. He said if I don't like the color, I can always peel them off.
Just wanted to see if anybody had any experience with plastidip before I try it on my rims!

wait john told you to use plastidip on rims that are metal? i mean would it even stick to the metal or would it just start dripping everywhere and make it hella hard to clean it up. id say just look for pictures of other black wrx/sti's rolling on black dpts.

Yes sir he did..suggested I check it out. I'm not quite sure how they work though. Maybe I'll just save up to get the legit powder coating done.
I was thinking all black or neon pink like sti pink, or alternating colors on spokes like pink/black/pink/black....
Haha, just a thought

black on black looks sick if you have window tints. murdered out man!! but iono how the alternating pattern would look on the car. btw how is the car now after the little oil leak?

I wouldn't put that stuff on your wheels. It'll take forever to prep the wheels and get all that **** off when you don't like it. I don't think it will take to the heat to well and they'll be a pita to clean. Terrible idea.
There are TONS of black on black cars out there. Look at the threads here and on nasioc in the photo sections. TONS of them.
If you are trying to do something different I'd get them powdercoated. You can have it done for like $250. Maybe even less. Places are hurting and business is business. If you have access to a tire machine and a media blaster you can get them coated for like $150 at some bay area places.
The cool part of paint is you can get some crazy colors. Dude here in Gilroy had some purple ones on his white wrx. Looked SICK. Super dark purple. You could only tell they were purple in the light. Gforces.
On a black car I don't know how cool they would be though.
No way in hell I'd alternate spokes. That sound retarded.
There's pictures of a black sedan with purple wheels floating around the BAM photos. I hated it. Some liked it.
If you're gonna go through the trouble I'd pick something you can't get from the factory. So no black.
I'd try something crazy myself. Like a metallic/flake copper or peuter color. Or if you're painting do like a cream with a copper flake in it. Something no one has done yet. Be creative. Just no they will be hard to sell if you don't like it.
If you really want black... just trade yours.
