OZ Prodrive P1's and 235/40/18's
Am I going to have issues with this setup in my 2002 WRX Sedan? I forgot to add I'm having Eibach Pro Springs added too. Now will THAT rub????
I've read a couple posts saying that they had to roll their fenders with 235's...
Anyone else have this problem...and is it a problem that I will have with the P1's??

i do'nt know with the p1's
but i have 18x8 ssr comps with 235/40/18 so3's and they rubbed when i first put 'em on. (i also have tein flex coilovers) i had to roll my rear fenders and for a while run spacers in the front... but i hear so3's run wider to start...

This worries me.
So should i not get the 235's??
I'm buying the Kumho MX's because of MONEY issues. But I just dont want to buy this set up and then realize that I've got rubbing issues.
Anyone have this similar setup?
OZ p1 18x7.5 Eibach Pro Kit and Kumho Mx 235/40/18??

Kumho's run narrow much less than the Brigestone's.
Pull up the specs on the two and compare the overall width on same with rims.

well per the specs on both of those tires you should not run them on any less than an 8 inch wide rim. You stated 18x7.5 rim.
You will be cupping the tread which will cause un desireable wear and performance.

offset is +53.
I've researched about the 235/40's on the 18x7.5 and there are a lot of people who run this size for 7.5 wide wheels.
The only concern I have is will there be rubbing due to the lowering springs.
OZ P1 18x7.5 +53 offset
Kumho MX 235/40/18
Eibach Pro Kit
2002 WRX Sedan
I don't know how the whole offset thing works. I'm sure there is someone out there who is running this setup? Am I wrong?

I would say it will not rub using that rim. But I have not tried it myself.
The problem with that narrow of rim is that when you go narrower that the recomended range, it allows the rim to move side to side more in the tire on cornering. This produces a swishy side slop and a delay to the turn-in responce. The wider the rim is the less the rim can move in the sidewall.
This will be greater with the Kumho, the S-03 has a firmer sidewall.

I would just go with the 225-40-18 the section width less than .1 narrower when you adjust for your 7.5 rim width. You will not notice the differance. the overall diameter is .3 smaller that the S-03. though.
I think the cornering responce will be much faster and the tire wear will be more even.
what every you deside, I think with that narrow of a rim with +53 offset you will not have a problem rubbing either the fender or the spring pearch.

Kumho ecsta 712s are an all-season/economy tire, and aren't as wide at a given stated width as performance tires, especially ones like S03s and Kumho MX. I guarantee that 225/40/18 S03s would rub on a wagon.
