Nitto 450 Extreme Performance any good?

I'm in the market for a new set of tires to replace the crappy RE92s and came across the Nitto 450 Extreme Performance. It seems like a pretty good value but I have no idea about its perforamance and durability anyone have any experience with it?
While I'm at it, does anyone have any suggestions for a nice set of 225/50-16s that perform well but are not prohibitively expensive? I'd get Potenza S-03s but I'm a bit too poor right now Any good alternatives to it? I need good wet weather performance too, since I live foggy, damp S.F. Also, I want good performing Street tires, since I rarely track or autocross these days. I was considering the Yokohama AVS ES100s...

Oh, and also any thoughts on the Falken FK451 and Ziex ZE-512? Thanks!

Car Info: 04 wrx sti
i used the nt450 series nitto's on my 02 wrx not factory wheels but 17" oz superleggeras. im currently using them now also on my sti for all season's till summer. i think they handle very well in the rain and snow or dry weather. they have decent tread wear 300 i believe. they can be a bit noisey at times but not to bad. i havent really tried any other tires besides the sti factory sti tires so i really cant compare them to some of the other manufacters out there.

Marshall - tell me more about the S03s at Costco w/ the coupon
Mike - the AVS ES100s are my top choice so far. Curse Yokohama for discontinuing the Intermediates
ej25lvr - thanks for the input. How do they compare with the RE070 (STi stockers)?

For the $$$ the 451's...they make the ES100's look like grandma's tires...they are right up there with the s03's....
They can be had for under $86/ea in 225/50-16...
See: http://www.vulcantire.com/451_t.htm

These are my next tires, I think.

I've heard that the FK451's have issues with wet pavement though, particularly puddles (common with SF's crappy roads and damp weather). The price is nice though!
Anyone have any experience with these?

The 451's have no problems in the wet, they are a 'wet' tire as in deseigned for the wet...they have done very well in all wet tests except wet braking. You heard wrong, I think.
Read through some of these tests on tires and see for yourself....
They aren't the best tested tire overall, but for the money...

I found 225/45-17's for $100ea.

Unbeatable.

Hmm... in that case I'll really have to consider the FK451's. I also made a mistake - the Azenis are lousy in the wet, not the FK451. Thanks for your advice!
BTW, any opinions on the Bridgestone Poteza RE750? It's a bit pricier but I think I found a good deal on 'em.
