K1 TS is cool, other two are kinda fugly. It'll be interesting to see the weights and prices might be nice (I'm sure they're on the website, but I'm lazy, lol)

If those Kosei K1s come in at or under 17.5 lbs, Dexter has sold four of them to me with Goodyear sneakers on em. But he has to tell me how much they weigh!

Oh, and I have decided to put my dreams of a boxing career on hold, after seeing this guy's noggin...

Just about the lightest sub-$200 wheels I have ever seen. Looks like my decision is made... I'd still rather hear numbers from Dexter's shop, however -- we all know that marketing web sites LOVE to fudge the weights...

NO WAY! 14 pounds?!?! I dunno, I'd hold out for Dexters measurements.

 

They put the 17x7 K1-TS on the scale this morning and got 13.5lbs. (without valve stem) I'm still twisting arms on the others...

Sorry for being a pain about the weights! I used to ride competition mountain bikes, and a lot of people in that sport/industry are concerned with shaving GRAMS off their bike (some would run titanium and magnesium bolts on their aluminum drilled-out water bottle holder, just to save weight -- they were convinced this somehow made them faster) and the 16.5 lb stockers for the WRX make it pretty tough to go up in size and down in weight simultaneously. Kosei came through for me, and the original Kosei K1 is still a "tuner" favorite in Japan that gets extremely positive reviews for strength and build quality.

BTW: what is "shot-peened" as a wheel forming method?

Oh, one more thing -- when you place these wheels with the tires of the reccommended tire size into your shopping cart, it gives you a warning that the wheels and tire sizes do not match, and will not let you select the mount/balance option. I've already e-mailed the site support, but I thought I'd give a heads-up here too.

 

Shot-peening is done after casting to relieve surface tenions in the wheels. It's like sand blasting with ball-bearings. I'm not sure about the issue online - if it persists, just give me a call and we'll fix it. Or you could put my name in as your sales rep and I'll check it out and make sure they're mounted/balanced.
