is my spare useless?......
i realized that there might be no point in carrying my spare around with me, since im no longer on stock wheels/tires. i have a pretty similar set up(exterior diameter wise) of 17x9 with 255/40/17 which should be nearly identical to the sti, and close to the wrx, is there a bigger sti spare i can get somewhere, or is the wrx spare fine, or is no spare going to work and ill need to leave the car on the side of the road and hustle over to the tire place with the wheel?
most of the people on here are running aftermarket wheels, what do you guys do?

I'm interested in this too. I guess it also depends on your tire side wall height. The overall diameter of the tire might be relatively close if you have a larger rim with a smaller tire wall height.

now who knows something useful like the exterior diameter of the spare, or what kind of tolerance there is for a size difference
for anyone that hasn't checked this out....

i am stock tires and wheels and my spare is original and my spare diameter is smaller than my stock wheels. wtf is up with that?
my suggestion would be just carry around a full size spare if you can.

Same here, looks like the donut wont reach the ground, and transfer everything to the other side. Owner's manual says to use that though (assuming stock wheels) as a temporary fix until you can get yourself another tire/fix.

it's good for emergency if you really need it.
i've always just used a tire repair kit, and my small portable air compressor
