kumho ecsta supra 712 question for tirerack... need to know asap!
okay so i'm going with kumho ecsta supra 712 (205 45 17) on my 17 x 7 40mm offset adr rims. will this work (will fitment be right)? i have a legacy currently with 195 60 15 on it and i guess 205 45 is what i need. i was going to go with 205 40 but the weight limit wasn't enough and the outer diameter wouldn't have been the same. will 205 45 also work on impreza rs without rub should i decide to sell legacy and get one?

The correct 17" size for the RS is 215/45/17. So, 205 will not rub. Also, if you're considering Kumho 712's, you should really take a look at the Yokohama AVS ES100's. For about the same price, they offer better performance. I've never experienced the Kumhos, but I'm sure other members could offer some good advice.

I run 712's and yes they are not the best tire ever my roomate has Azinies and they just rock but the kumho's are viable in rain which is nice cause the azinies suck in the wet. As for yokahma they used to produce great tires but have lost a step in the corse of the past 2 or so years.
from a performance standpoint the kumho are ok the safety margine is better because they howl before they break loose and the are predictable when they go.
I'd say buy them if it rain a lot where you live if it doesnt rain say like LA or Phoenix Id say get the Azinies for max performance

We show 205/50 on an '03 Legacy sedan with 17" wheels, which should fit the Impreza - though it's a bit narrow. I recommend the Yokahama AVS ES100 as well.

so i bought the kumho ecsta supra 712's on tirerack yesterday and they came in today. they look great. haven't put them on the rims yet though. my friend works at a ford dealer and he's gonna mount and balance them for me. were either the tires or rims supposed to come with valve stems? i picked the kumhos because it rains here a lot and its all around humid a lot. i'm in ct. thanks for your suggestions!
