just me, or do the RE 070s stick better than toyo proxes 4s...

I got a pair of Toyo Proxes 4s 3 weeks ago and I would have figured that by know they would be warn in to stick well. this is not just in the rain this is in dry conditions as well. I find that some corners that iv been taking at the same speed with my old re 070s my new proxis 4s just cant handle.
maybe I should have forked over the extra 100 bucks for the T1Rs...

any people driving on proxes 4s please comment

proxes 4 are treadsquirm galore!
Your re070s were better because they have massive blocks and little tread depth

but my re050s arent sticky at all i dont know why they cost so much, probly cuz its from the (empty)Tire Rack

toyo proxes 4 are all season tires, they aren't meant to take turns super fast. you picked the wrong tire...

Yup what they said.

I went through a set of proxy-4's last year, and was not particulalry impressed, other than they were relatively inexpensive.
Proxy-4's are only a mediocre all season at best, really good at nothing but not really terrible on anything either. Certainly not what I'd call an ultra high performance tire, and calling them high performance is a stretch.

yeah i hate my proxe4's. sidewalls are way too soft. handling in the rain sucks for an all season tire.

hmm... maybe you demand too much from the tires?

I autoXed on my 205/50/16 proxes4 once, and i was only about 1.4 sec off my usual pace...

They are not a performance tire, but for an all season, they are pretty damn nice.

I preferred the Sumitomo HTR+ M&S, not directional so you can rotate them, better in the snow, slightly better in the rain and better in dry than the proxy 4.
And they were REALLY affordable.

Now I'm running some Kumho's- I forget the exact model, cheap-o all seasons, and nothing too great here either.
