50 psi?

does that sound a bit high to anyone else? I don't think I've run any more that about 37psi in my falkens and that is the hot pressure. Cold, I run more like 32-34 psi.

Come to think of it. I also use 50 psi. But, it's for the tires on my truck.

the tire can raise up to ~6psi when going from cold to warm... 50 psi sounds really high.

Go check on the sidewall of your tires to find out the MAX psi --- on my BFG kdws tires the max is 42psi. I put my front tires to 36psi and my rears at 34-35 psi (more air in the front cuz theres more weight in the front)

once you find out I would change the psi in all your other tires accordingly.

hope this helps

50 is the maximum allowed on Proxy-4's, I would never run closer than two or three pounds below maximum though, especially since most tire gauges are not exactly precision instruments.

And I don't expect the whole thing self destructed spontaneously either, I expect slowing from 80 is responsible for most of the actual damage shown in the pix.

Probably hit a chunk of metal or something that blew it out, even with max pressure, tires don't just pop without something initiating it.

wow....i belive 50psi's is WAY to high.

tires normally have their MAX pressure written on the sidewall, but i normally stay below 40 psi's. keeping the 3 psi difference between front and rear tires. Then the air expands when heated...

I've been seeing a lot of blown tires lately as well where people pop their tires on freeways.

Ya, I think we found the problem... 50psi = no good with this heat. Tires might have been up to 60psi with driving + 90-100 degree temps

Oh and when my rear tire blew out I swapped the front tire to the rear and the spare to the front.. Does it matter if the spare was in the rear? I have 18s..
