Blizzaks

The difference between stock tires and Blizzaks here in Alaska is night and day. I can stop almost as well as I could in the summer and I can out accelarate anything else on the road. There not cheap. About 500 for a set of 4 but WOW, no annoying noise like studded have and they perform better. I wouldnt recommend them for people in areas that dont have snow or ice on the roads all winter though. They will wear incredibly fast on dry pavement. But for Alaska, Canada or northern continental states, these are the best for the winter.

They are good, I have the Blizzak LM22s on my car too. Dunlop Wintersport M3s are also great snow tires. Probably two of the best studless snow tires out at the moment.

I have heard that Toyo makes a very good studless tire as well. Bridgestone is the only brand I have tried though.

Studded tires damage the roads quite a bit up here and hopefully over the next few years studless tires will be able to help reduce the damage done.
