Anyone heard of Kyowa wheels?
Anyone heard anything about this Japan manufactured brand?

Kyowa? Any problems? 18" wheels are about 18lbs. Not bad for $160 a wheel.

Especially if the name of the company, kyowa, looks like someone heard some word in Japanese and used it. For example Kyoo wa (pronounced basically the same way as kyowa) just means today is.

Well, they have the "JWL" emblem in the casting (Japan Light Wheel Alloy).

Umm, when I saw Kyowa, I was thinking more like 協和, as in harmony. Or to a lesser extent 共和, as in republicanism.

But semanics notwithstanding, I think Kyowa might be an American company after looking at their homepage.

At 18lbs and $160 a wheel they look pretty sweet. Way lighter than 18" Rotas.

So was Rota, PDM FTW. At least it's a bit assuring to know that company's casting process fit JWL standards. Get 'em if you like them.

JWL stamped on the wheel means that the wheel maker's testing facility has been inspected by the Vehicle Inspection Authority of Japan and that the wheel conforms to standards set by the VIA. It does not mean that the wheel is made in Japan.

I've heard and seen them before. I knew a guy that had them on his 04 WRX. They look really nice, they should be as sturdy as Rotas, and I was actually thinking of getting them. They are the best replica's of the Volks.

Thanx for your input guys.

Yea they look alot like volks.

They have some offset packages 18x8 and 18x9 that fit wagons. Makes a concave look.
