Any problems with bent wheels?
Im looking to upgrade my wheels and tires soon. Living in a city Ive gotta worry about potholes and not optimal driving conditions. With this said, I was just wondering if people have had problems with warped or bent wheels? If so what wheels where they? I am looking at Volks, ce97n's I think. If anyones got these what is your experience with them? thanks all.

No responses until a West Coaster like me, so that's a positive sign already.
Its all about sidewall height. If you think you can dodge ALL the big bottomless holes out there, then you can get away with 225/40/18s. Sidewall height is 3.5 inches. With 225/45/17s, sidewall height is 4.0 inches. 12.5 percent higher. Question is, will that 12.5% bridge the gap between bent rim and unbent rim? Only He knows. If it was me, I'd go for the cushion. 17s. You might lose 4-5 tenths at full chat around Lime Rock. Maybe a second at the most. Is it your daily driver year round? If so, 17s all the way out there in the changable weather.
