225 vs. 245 on a 7.5" rim?
I'm am gonna pick up a pair of Falken Azeni sports from Discout Tire Direct and they have both 225 and 245 width tires in stock and the 245's are marginally more. I do A L O T of mountain driving and since this is the beginning of summer and I only expect these tires to last me until the end of summer. These will be mounted on a 17x7.5" Rota Tarmac on a stock ride height WRX.
Cliffs:
1. Have stock suspended WRX w/ 17x7.5" wheels.
2. Want to know if 245's will fit
3. Want to know if it will be a better idea to go with the 245's over the 225's considering my driving habits?
4. ...
5. Profit?

go with the 225s. reasons:
1) mounting a 245 on a 7.5" wide rim isn't a great idea. you should have a wider rim to run a tire that wide. the tire will bunch up and bulge out, resulting in more wear, and a contact patch not as fat as you'd like with a 245.
2) rubbing -- a 225 isn't going to rub on anything given your setup, unless you drive a wagon, in which case its possible depending on wheel offset, and a couple other variables. i'm virtually certain that 245s would rub on your stock struts.
i'm running 8.5" wide Gram Lights on RA Spec-C struts and springs, and 245s would rub on my current setup -- i run 225s right now. with coilovers i'd have room to stuff the 245 under the wheel well (yeah, i'm thinking about it pretty damn hard). you're welcome to come out to either the BDG meet on thursdays or the IAG meet on fridays to check out my setup in person.

yea, I was considering that issue and thats why I was posting here as to whether I would maximise full use of the 245 width. I have heard a few of people running 245 safely on stock struts on a sedan. Although I have not personally confirmed that.

While you may be able to get the 245's on a 7.5" wheel they will not perform as well as 225's. The 245's will be pinched in to the narrow wheel width and you will have either more sidewall deflection or, if you put enough air pressure into them to reduce the sidewall deflection, a smaller contact patch ... go 225's
