Skyline and Supra Test drive... kinda

They are large videos and they don't have a Suby in them but I think you will like them none-the-less.

Hey Island,

The Supra was tuned by Power House Amuse.

http://www.amuseusa.com

Give them a call - I think they have a US division so it won't be a long distance call.

Let me know what you find out!

Thanks Depdivr...

I'll look into it...

It seems that all the JDM Supras have that electronic "Squish" noise...my HKS SSQV sound somewhat muffled like that...I'm thinking that if I were to keep the silver or gold insert on the SSQV and somehow plumb it back as a full recirc...it would sound similar...

As it is, if you just get the HKS Recirc fitting...it is just a hollow tube...giving it the muted "Whoosh" sound as it recirculates...

I havn't gotten a reply from them... I just put on a Perrin VTA BOV, sounds a lot like it especially when you are really going through the gears.

About 2 weeks ago, I dropped a new FP Red turbo into my STI. I am not a huge fan of aftermarket BOVs but because of the higher boost (21 psi) I had to get an aftermarket unit. I heard Jeff Perrin's 04 STI with the Perrin Performance BOV and it sounded remarkably similar to the BOV in the Supra. I picked one up (not cheep) for about 220. Sounds great, its a VTA so that helps. The MAF sensor is before the BOV so at blow off, you get a small backfire with flames that shoot out the tail pipe because of the brief rich mixture (Same as the supra in the video). I seriously doubt that its the same BOV but it sure does sound the same and I haven't had any problems with it.

Any chance you can make a sound clip?

Could you video shifting...I'd like to hear what the Perrin sounds like...the sound probably has a lot to do with the boost level...21 psi...killer...your car sounds nice...I'm just running the stock sti turbo...

Please try and post a clip of your bov if you can...thanks

Brent

ok, I just picked up a new digital camera so I will see what I can get done for you. I am showing the car tomorrow at a Pdx Tuning Suby meet here in Portland, I will see if I can get a clip then (maybe someone will follow next to me to get an outside sound as well as the standard inside.

I also attached a photo of the BOV...
