Combat equipment training jump at about 900-1100 ft. from a C-130.

My stomach got all knotted.
I much preferred jumping on my own on the weekends. Ft Cambell had a kickass club that the Division sponsored, so we jumped out of Blackhawks. So much more relaxed.

I hated hearing the rubber bands snap as you jumped from a Blackhawk. I did a fluke UH-1 jump once and that sucked because of the skid. Give me a ****hook tailgate any day.
Not sure if you've had the chance but if you ever go back to an Airborne unit you'll love the C-17. So much leg room. No rucksack dogpiles or loss of circulation. It's pretty much the Cadillac of the sky. The only problem is it doesn't suck you out like the 141 or 130. There's an actual plank of dead air outside the door which can cause troops to bunch-up in the door.

I'm thinking about doing some jumping this summer for the first time... anyone recommend any good instructors/places to go in the Tri-State area?

I used to think that having fully nude stripper bars on post was universal.
When I got to Ft Ord, the EM club was about 200m away from my barracks and they had strippers very often, like once or twice weekly. They were the type that would 'pick up' your dollars right from your mouth.

I never did too much partying in Columbus. About the best memory I have of that **** hole is when myself and a couple other Cherries went down to the chattahoochee for a for a 4th of July party on a weekend pass from BAC. We walked along the road and someone decided to throw a 64oz big-gulp on me from a fast moving car yelling "Cherries."
We went back to the cheap motel we had stayed in, paid the motel fee and split a taxi fare to Atlana. Did most of my partying there and had a grrreat time. any southern military town. At least you can flee to San Diego from Oceanside, ya know?

Gotta love a massive Ranger Burger though. The Sniper burger is actually the best but I felt obligated to get the Ranger Burger initially. I puked afterwards and it was still delicious. Have you been there Salty(Ranger Burger)? I loved spending my money in Ranger Joe's. When I was in airborne school I wasn't paying attention and I hate the ground so hard it deployed me reserve.
