i think those usually come off of submarine engines, my friend is building a camaro with a similar turbo, it's a t92 I believe, he's mating it to an LS1, but everything will sit under a normal hood, no big scoops or cuts (thewholething is modified).

I saw a Chevy Blazer the other day with an external FMIC and something sticking out of the hood, couldn't snap a pic because we were travelling in opposite directions, but it was . . . scary looking.

I don't believe it's genuine video!
I don't think a 3.0 liter Supra engine has enough volume to effectively spin up that turbo, and the clunky way it's installed coupled with the fact that the hood wouldn't close w/o modification makes me think someone got creative with the footage.
Also usually when an engine fails from overboost it's internal and usually means a connecting rod folded or a piston cracked and the connecting rod came right through it. So where did the sparks come from?
JMHO though.

yeah supras dont have very much traction at all. My friend has 2 supras. One twin turbo and another single turbo. When hes driving down the road in the single turbo at around 50 and downshifts into 4th at wot, the rear starts sliding around and theres smoke everywhere. (18x10's w/ 295/35/18 in the rear).
