Ask and ye shall receive... WRX on D1 Circuit

I took this video at Round 2 of the D1 GP in Odaiba last month. Finally, a Subaru on the D1 Circuit! Is there anything this car can't do?

The driver is Nobushige Kumakubo. The car is estimated to be pushing over 500hp.

is that rear wheel drive

any one know is that subby converted to rear wheel drive or is it still all wheel drive

its probobly AWD but you can control the center diff to give more power to the rear.

Nope. AWD not allowed in D1.

I could have got a lot more info about the car, but the Yukes team pit was closed off during the pit walk. I will be going to round 5 at Ebisu Circuit in August, where the pits are wide open. Hopefully, I can get some more information and some under-hood pics.

if you download their screen saver and watch it for a while you'll eventually see a under hood shot. it's quite excelent -all i could see were charge pipes.
