Btw, I have had a helix DP with a custom metal substrate cat fabricated in by MPJ on my car for the last 7 months. I love it. It almost feels like I have no cat at all.

Actually the Helix Cat is a metal substrate 200 cell. I *believe* the factory cat is 400 cell ceramic.
Based on the flow test data, I think it would be extremely difficult to run this clean at these flow rates with a ceramic cat.

So although the car would pass emissions with this downpipe, it wont pass the visual since that cat wont be seen on the bottom of the car right???? sorry, kinda newbish here. Just trying to get by in killa legal cali.

unfortunetly that is a sticky situation. Normally most SMOG shops wont bother to look under the car, they will just dyno it and pop your hood. If the SMOG guys do check under the car you wont pass because you arent allowed to change your downpipe unless you have written documentation that it was replaced due to damage.

or how about I take a 1/4" drill bit to the OE pipe, then take it to a shop and tell them I was drilling a hole to hang a picture in the garage and my drill slipped. (a la JKF comissions's single bullet theory)
