"Niu" means coconut in Hawaiian.
Those headers look very very similar to what I own and what many other vendors are selling. Gruppe-s, Revolution Motorsports, RavSpec, and WRXTuner just to name a few. How is this any different from theirs? They all claim what you have in yours, for less.

I didn't know 'niu' means coconut in Hawaiian =). Its actually a Vietnamese name.
The only thing I can tell you is that many other suppliers have these up pipes/headers Mig welded by hand. This is no where near accurate as having it machined Tig Welded(more costly as well). Espesically when dealing with these exhaust pipes, Tig welding seals a lot better then Mig Welding. We have heard a few WRX customers complaining about other vendor's up pipe leaking due to the welding job. You get what you pay for. And again, we do offer warranty on our products.

Dont know sh*t about welding and stuff like that, but Im a gambling man....I bet those are the same exsact header as every 1 else (HKS replica) and 2 other vendors have them for 599 i think.....and considering this is the replica of the HKS header....its a shame that its more expensive than the original.....i know it comes with the uppipe, but thats like 2 hundred bucks....so 800 for replica or 850-900 (i've seen it) somewhere else for the original.

I've seen many of these Asian (Taiwan, Tailand, Korea, Japan) made manifold myself due to the fact that I do travel to Asia quite often for business purposes. The quality of these manifolds varies but in my experience with seeing the production lines and the finished products. The ones from Taiwan and Japan has the overall better quality than Thailand and Korea. However, as of my knowledge there are at least 8 factories/tunning shops that's manufacturing manifolds for GC/GD imprezas but only 2 of the factories can pass my standard. So it's kind of hard to find out where these vendors from I-club get their products from and how reliable they are.
In comparing those 2 factories with famous brands from Japan and Europe such as HKS, Zerosports, JIC, Syms Cusco and MRT........Objectively speaking........they surprised me with better quality and craftmanship over the top brands. I'm not questioning the quality and reliability level of these famous tunners but just really sharing my own opinions and thoughts with my fellow Impreza owners.

You can weld non circular surfaces with TIG welding.
Your basic welding is TIG welding. All it stands for:
Tungsten
Inert
Gas
Welding.
Where Tungsten is just the electrode.
MIG welding is:
Metal
Inert
Gas
Welding:
Where the metal electrode is aluminum.
I think companies just use technical terms like TIG and MIG welding to make people go OOH and AHH at the words.
basic welding by TIG welding by hand.... so um yeah...
it's like when hondas have DOHC in big letters on the side...
now WRX on the back of car... that's a different story...

but yes, machine welding is consistent all the time,
hand helded, although it sounds cool and higher quality, usually isn't, cuz humans make mistakes!!!! and our hands shake when we do stuff like that!!!
and if SET right (cuz machines only do what you tell them, nothing more nothing less) will give a better quality weld bead.
oh by the way,
if anyone is looking for a manufacturing engineer or knows a company that is looking to work with an OEM for performance car parts, i'm graduating in MAY 2003

ok, I weld for a living , both MIG and TIG.
1. Machine welders are consistant and produce a nice looking weld.
2. Machine welders do not know when there is a part of the weld that needs reworked.
3. I have worked for a OEM ford plant (dont knock the blue oval)
and I would have to rework the machine welders work constantly due to the fact that the pipes wouldn't pass the air compression check.
4. An experienced welder can make a weld (physically) better than a machine anyday

Am I missing something here? Using the link that you posted on your 1st posting it takes me to the page for your header/uppipe combination. That price shows $900 shipped, yet your posting here shows $1000 with shipping. Is the $1000 a special price for people that found your web site from I-Club?

I c.....you guys distribute for Topspeed......But they are not a japanese brand or company as you first described the origin of this header. From wut I know Topspeed purchase their stuff from Taiwan . So I figured this is this is the third or forth batch of headers from the same factory that GTspec first brought into the U.S. market.
