Re: Not happy with Stoneguard headlamp covers

I purchased a set of lamp covers for my WRX. I believe they caused a heat build up in the lenses which has caused cracks in both headlamp lenses. Its odd that the lenses have cracks on the same areas. If something were to have hit the lenses, I would have definately noticed it since I am the only one that drives the car. Plus it would have had to have been a large object and would have left a mark on the stoneguard cover. Which there is no mark. Right now I am mystified on how this could happen.

Have you had any other similar complaints?
Hmmm...haven't had that happen yet. Hopefully it won't. YOu may want to contact Ston Guard directly as they are very good to work with and they'll make sure you're satisfied.

Brian - good to know about the alcohol and water trick. Will try it out for sure

Hank - No problem bud!! Let me know what you think of that method!!

Briggs - What kind of Headligths do you have?? OEM or JDM?? I have never heard of the Stongard protectants causing some kind of heat build up. I have had mine on for a year now and nothing!! Let me know which kind of headlight you have and how long you have had the Stongard on, if you would. Thanks!!

Brian

Man, That is really strange!! I am sorry to hear about your unlucky car!!! Not good!!

Did you buy the optional extended warranty?? If so, then Stongard will replace the headlight up to $700 for up to four years after you purchased the product!!!

If you did then you need to call Stongard @ 1-800-350-4897 to get it cleared up!!!

I am sorry once again and I hope that you luck changes!!

Yup extended warranty. Check out this link!!

http://www.stongard.com/sgcontent/warranty.asp

If you weren't offered one then maybe you should try calling them and see what they say about it!! They are very friendly there and you might be able to get something worked out!!

Thanks,
Brian

That is odd to hear!! I can't understand what would cause that!! Like I said I have had no problems with mine, and I have had them on for a year now!! I am sure with any product you are going to have a few problems but for the whole if it was doing it to everyone, Stongard would have corrected the probelm and not run from it. They are not like that!! They have top notch service and I am sure that there are some exceptions to every product but not to say that all of them are bad.

I wish you the best of luck!!! If you do decide to go with the paint kit then let me know!!!

Thanks,
Brian
