Re: Not happy with Stoneguard headlamp covers

Plus it would have had to have been a large object and would have left a mark on the stoneguard cover. Which there is no mark. Right now I am mystified on how this could happen.
Have you had any other similar complaints?

Hank - No problem bud!! Let me know what you think of that method!!
Briggs - What kind of Headligths do you have?? OEM or JDM?? I have never heard of the Stongard protectants causing some kind of heat build up. I have had mine on for a year now and nothing!! Let me know which kind of headlight you have and how long you have had the Stongard on, if you would. Thanks!!

OEM Headlights
They are OEM Lights.
I'm not pointing any fingers yet. I'm just trying to figure out how the cracks happened. I just can't believe that anything that big has hit my car in the lenses to damage them with the stoneguard lens protectors installed. Afterall this is the reason I purchased them (to protect the lenses). Now I have damaged lights and now I'm kinda ticked off.
But then I was ticked off at the person who put a huge door crease in my front fender (right in the fender flare) only two weeks of owning my car (New).
Just seems that when bad **** happens, it happens to me. Kinda sucks (Not your fault)
I've had my lens protectors on for almost 2 years. I bought them right after they became available.

Man, That is really strange!! I am sorry to hear about your unlucky car!!! Not good!!
Did you buy the optional extended warranty?? If so, then Stongard will replace the headlight up to $700 for up to four years after you purchased the product!!!
If you did then you need to call Stongard @ 1-800-350-4897 to get it cleared up!!!
I am sorry once again and I hope that you luck changes!!

If you weren't offered one then maybe you should try calling them and see what they say about it!! They are very friendly there and you might be able to get something worked out!!
Thanks,

I had the same problem as BriggsWRX with my headlights when I installed Stongard. I got crazing/microcracks on both headlights within two months. This was disappointing as I followed the included instructions verbatim. I contacted Stongard & they told me this was an issue between me, 3M (Stongard's maker), & Subaru & that Stongard was not responsible for any damage to my headlights. Needless to say I was not happy about that. Subaru laughed at me. I don't feel like filing a class-action lawsuit against 3M at this point.
This is also a common problem Honda 2K owners have had with their headlights. My recommendation WRT Stongard: I'd consider the full protection paint kit & get a professional to install it. I'd skip the headlight kit if I had it to do all over again.

That is odd to hear!! I can't understand what would cause that!! Like I said I have had no problems with mine, and I have had them on for a year now!! I am sure with any product you are going to have a few problems but for the whole if it was doing it to everyone, Stongard would have corrected the probelm and not run from it. They are not like that!! They have top notch service and I am sure that there are some exceptions to every product but not to say that all of them are bad.
I wish you the best of luck!!! If you do decide to go with the paint kit then let me know!!!
Thanks,
Brian

I'd be interested in the complete front end and i've got Morrette lights.......Now whats this thing that i'm hearing people say that the stongard is causing there light to crack, bcs i don't want that to happen to me and then not be compensated by stongard if it does happen......There's no heat coming from my lghts bcs there HID maybe that'll make a diff??
Dave..............
PS complete front end minus the hood i had it done by Ziebart last year. So bumper, lights, mirrors, and is there one for above the windshield as well, sorry can't remember if there was or not..
Thanks.............
