what to do about possible scammer

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok. I bought something from a fellow I-club member, about a week or so ago. I have sent him a # of PMs and he hasnt returned any. He has however visited this sight and put up new posts. Now his PM box is full and I have asked him on his last post to clear them, he hasnt been back on since. I really need advice on what to do. I dont really want to put his name out there just yet, just incase this is a misunderstanding. I do however want to weigh my options before this goes past the 30 day mark. Any help would be much appreciated. Also I saved every conversation between this person and myself, I also saved the paypal receipt. Thanks in advance, I am just very dissapointed I am having to post this. Dustin

Yes that is my first and most obvious option, but what if the guy has not realized his pm's are full. Or what if his mother has died or something. You know I usually try to live by the (do unto other) rule. So I hope the guy reads this and realizes what is going on, all I want is what I payed for, not to hurt his reputation on here of have to send the police to his house. I just want what is mine that is all. I do appreciated the reply though.

It has been about 10 days or so. I dont want to let his name go @ this time. I will give it until tommorrow. Like I said above I dont want to call him out and the thing show up in the mail. I just want to hear back from him. He has cleared his PMs I just sent him another one. All I really want to do is find out my option in case it doesnt show.

Do you have a tracking number?

What was the last thing he said to you. More details please.

The last thing that he said was, he needed some fuel lines for his car because they had been cut. I offered to send them to him for free because I have access to tons of stainless line @ work. The last thing he said about the package was that he went to the post office and they did not have a box so he went to a mail depot and got one. He said that he would ship the following morning.

Also I did not get a tracking #. Like I said he wont respond to any of my pm's or emails. I did however find out his ID on AIM. I'm not sure that this will be of any help to me, but I have cataloged it just in case.

Honestly dude, if you're getting scammed, you options are very few. I was scammed not too long ago. I paid through paypal, and they couldn't do a thing about it. It was a lesson learned the hard way. I no longer pay for items through paypal. I don't ask people to ship to me either. I pick the item up. If it's too far, I just don't get the item. It's a sad day when you realize that a lot of people on forums that are selling items are full of it. It makes it harder for legit deals to happen because everyone is getting scared of being scammed. I'll hope for the best for ya.

You need to get all your conversations together, every email or pm. Save everything! You could take him to small claims court for a few bucks. (if it came down to it.)

There was this one other guy in this forum that did that. He got his money back right away.

Well. I went ahead and got things started. I contacted his email server with an FBI agents # he is going to get in touch with the agent from the fraud department. I also spoke with the Los Angelas Police Department, they are also going to stay informed on the matter via The officer from the FBI. The agent I spoke with from the FBI had me to send all the info on the seller and all the conversations that I had with him to him in an email. He looked them over and about an hour later called me back. He said that if the seller doesnt contact me within 24 hours of written notice(which I sent through email) then to call him back and they will be able to take care of everything. I guess saving all those messages and his AIM address and email address were a good idea after all. I guess we will see what happens. I really hope this guy will just send me what I bought I hate to see someone go to jail over this.

you can just send me money through paypal, nothing is wrong with the wing, if you dont have a factory wing though, you might have to figure out a way to connect the led lights on the spoiler, besides that everything is is perfect. <private.php?do=newpm&forward=1&pmid=183386> <private.php?do=newpm&forward=1&pmid=183386> <private.php?do=newpm&pmid=183386> <private.php?do=newpm&pmid=183386>

If you want one made for the greddy I can make it for like 20-30 bucks. I can post pics of the one that I made for my car if you would like to see it. Do you think that people would be interested in these because It would give me something to do in my down time at work. I can make the whole kit plug for recirculating hose and all. Let me know and since you hooked me up on the wing I will make you one.

my recirculating hose was cut due to misunderstood of directions and i need the fuel line hoses that come with the kit... i think people would be interested start a sell for it

its like a rubber hose.... im not sure the size, like besides the metal rail thats on your top mount intercooler, i need a rubber hose to replace that because my greddy BOV is on the way of it...
