BRULLEN Equal Length Headers, High Flow cat and custom resonated midpipe for an RS
I'm going back to stock so I can have my car smogged and decided to sell my Brullen exhaust setup. This came off of my 98 RS so it will fit 98-01 and possibly others? Not sure exactly, but I'll post back if I find out.
The entire setup includes Brullen Equal Length headers, a stainless steel Brullen High Flow Cat, and a custom 2.25" midpipe with a Magnaflow high flow round resonator that connects to the stock muffler location - so you can just bolt on whatever muffler you want without having to do any cutting or welding (this is very good).
The Brullen headers and cat are made by IonPerformance, who no longer manufactures these parts for subarus. The equal length Brullen design delivers a nice power increase and a strong smooth pull throughout the RPM range. There has been a lot of good information posted about these headers so please feel free to search around.
The Magnaflow round resonator in the midpipe is a design that doesn't restrict airflow at all, yet brings the sound down to a perfect level.
The header cat sold new for over $1100. The midpipe cost $160 to have made with the resonator. Also included are spring bolts to connect the cat and midpipe as well as a (used) gasket for the cat to header, since it has an nice large opening
Feel free to PM me with any questions, or if you're interested in buying. Locals will take priority, but I'm willing to ship.
$600 plus shipping

Some 1/4 times:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ders+stainless
"Times were taken on the same stretch of the highway at 12:00 (midnight about over a span of 3 weeks) A total of 27 runs were taken, 9 stock runs, 9 cat back runs, and 9 Header w/ cat back runs. Each section will show the averages. The other mods which were prestent during all the runs are K&N Filter, Cold air tube to the fender, and Under Drive Pulley. "
Before Catback or Headers:
0-60 = 8.1 Sec (average of 3 runs)
1/4 Mile = 16.14 @ 86 (Best of 3 runs)
HP = 115 (average of 3 runs)
Brullen 2.25" Cat Back exhaust before Headers:
0 - 60 = 7.4 (average of 3 runs)
1/4 Mile = 15.39 @ 90 (Best of 3 runs)
HP = 121 (average of 3 runs)
Header + 2.25 Cat Back exhaust:
0 - 60 = 6.91 (average of 3 runs)
1/4 Mile = 14.94 @ 92 (Best of 3 runs)
HP = 136 (average of 3 runs)

Hi Flanders,
First off, I lowered the price a bit
It is a bit of money, but the price is relatively cheap compared to the cost of the setup new, which I mentioned in the ad. This stuff really is very expensive new, feel free to search around here or on nasioc to check.
California is strict with any exhaust mods, particularly with removing/replacing the cat or headers. Only CARB certified parts can pass smog, which I am not sure the brullen parts are. If the smog tech wants to get picky, they may not pass the car... or they might. Aside from this though, almost any high flow cat on a subaru causes a CEL, which would prevent your car from passing smog. One option is reset the CEL just before getting the car smogged or you can try a MIL eliminator which some people have luck with.
As for the sound, I'd say it's medium, and a lot of it comes from the front and middle of the car (where the headers and cat are) as opposed to the back. The headers themselves have a nice growl to them, which sounds a bit more like a V8 then a typical subaru. The cat has an additional raspiness to it which is mostly audible above 3000 RPMs. The sound coming out of the tailpipe with the setup is more mild due to the Magnaflow resonator in the midpipe. The resonator does a perfect job of balancing out the sound, which is why I chose it. I happen to also have a nice Stromung muffler which gave my car a nice low rumbly sound in the back, but how it sounds out the back your car would just depend on the muffler you hook it up to
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
