gotcha, well I think your only option is to remove the problem mods, hassle yes but I cant think of any alternative. If you need help Im sure there are shops in your area that would help you remove some mods and then re-install later

do you mean smog certification because there are ways to bypass that withough unmodding your car but if you have to bring it into DMV themselves then you just gonna have to take the mods that caused you to not pass then...sorrys man, hope things go well

Tommi,

One question.. your car is the same year as mine.. a 2002.. for cars 2001 and on you could have gotten an extension sticker till 04.. I have a 2001 pathfinder which fell into this catagory.. they did not send it automatically, I called some number on the web and a couple of days later put the sticker on the windshield.
I would think you fell into this catagory..
I know that this is what i will be doing.. As I have a scooby sports turbo back that I am about to install.. At least buys you a couple of years.. 04 or 05

I have a 2002 WRX and just recieved an extention sticker in the mail. Says I dont have to have it inspected to 2006. It said something to the effect that any 2002 car didnt have to be inspected to 2006. Dont know why you had to inspect yours.
At least I dont have to worry about being catless for another 2 years, but Ill just put the stock downpipe on when its time to inspect
