Think about it. Can you imagine what would happen to your life if you evicted her.

I couldn't imagine being that landlord.
Just picture the rioting, looting, and general mayhem that would insue if she was (rightfully) evicted.
Personnally, I'm glad to see that not all landlords are "slumlords".

I don't see the problem.
The landlord has given Mrs. Parks a verbal "life-estate" out of the kindness of his heart.
I'm sure the initial eviction notice was protocol. You have to at least try and get your money as a landlord or else you're getting the shaft. He doesn't really care where his rent money is coming from as long as he gets it. It can come from Parks, Church etc.
Maybe he's financially stable enough to let Mrs. Parks stay rent free or banking on the fact she'll be dead soon. Maybe he's just a really nice guy in the end? Bottom line is that it's his call as a landlord.

I thought she was rich from a suit that was filed on he behalf against the rap group Outkast? Scratch that, they haven't settled yet. I think that song where they say roses really smell like oooh ooh ooh oooh was a stab at the law suit. When and if they settle her kids or grandkids should have a decent inheritance.

Does anybody know what happened in that suit? I sorta assumed it was settled out of court...but I'm curious for how much and the terms regarding the use of her name.
I didn't hear Saddam complaining about 'Bombs over Baghdad' hahahahaha (just a joke...)
EDIT: case isn't settled yet, thanks deyes...

dang, i didn't even know she was still alive
you dont' pay rent, you get evicted. doesnt' matter who you are. thats my opinion. of course the guy has the right to let her stay for free and i think its great that he is doing that. very kind thing to do when your business is based upon that income.
as to call it racist if she was evicted is dumb. it has nothing to do with race. its about not paying money you owe.

If she was evicted, don't tell me there wouldn't be people supporting her for "racial reasons," and that the landlord wouldn't get some major hate mail, to say the least.
Thousands of elderly people are evicted every year, and it doesn't make the news.

yeah, in fact not evicting her because of race is only supporting racism in a round-about way, if that makes any sense. I shouldnt matter what color she is, if she can't pay the rent, then she should be treated just like everyone else.
