I'm going through a game with a credit card company right now; they jacked up my interest & dropped my available credit limit to an amount that's less than what I have on the card.
Obviously, this makes me "over limit" every month.
After one year of making payments, my balance has increased, eventhough I have made no new purchases.
In January, I informed them I was no longer able/willing to pay them, unless, they fixed the initial problem, which they have declined to do.
All because one payment was one day late.

All of my extra money from my paychecks is going to pay off my debt. In 6 months I want to have my car be the only debt I have and even then I want it to be less than what the car is worth.

they sent us a nice courtesey notice that my wife's card is going from 9.9 to 24.9% for no apparent reason. unless of course we cancel the account, in which case we can continue to pay down under the current terms... i understand that their goal is to "stop the bleeding", so we'll play along and cancel.
meanwhile, my usaa accounts are at 7.9 and dropping.
