I've also been exorcised! my family thought it would fix kidney failure.
So it seems you have had a bit of help from a savior.

Please show me peace on earth to back up the claim the Jesus was the Messiah. I also do not understand how someone can base their life of a book of stories that is completely contradictory many times over.
You have a point with what you are pointing out with how Kyle is posting.

Jesus' life met all the prophecies of the OT down to the smallest details. Which verse are you specifically talking about?

Through Christ, man can have eternal life in Heaven which gives many people peace while still on Earth. Before Christ, God's Law and mans' works had to do with where they would go after death. God's relationship with man was harsh and the world was dark. When Christ came, he took punishment for all of our sins from God so that we may appear as righteous and worthy of life in Heaven to God.

As for peace, see what Christ says in the NT.
Jesus says (in Matthew 10):
34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law -
36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[e]

37"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

As you can see with this thread alone, there is much unrest about religion. It's essentially a war for your soul between God and the Devil.

an on the topic of complete ignorance, how many conversations have you had with a snake? or a burning tree for that matter.
that's an impressive list. Now see a person of faith would say that maybe there was some room for divine intervention there. Just an alternate thought. You should be proud of yourself for such accomplishments. Its unfortunate it's made you so jaded. I can understand it though. Seeing my mother beaten to death sure made me jaded for a long time. As did seeing the inner workings of organized religion.

as for the burning bush none. I've also never seen someone crucified. Never seen someone survive a fall from an airplane. Never seen or done a lot of things. Never seen true evolution in the sense of monkey to man. Evolution is no less a faith than religion is.

I'm not gonna stand here and tell you that your choices are wrong. I can't do that because who is to say mine are not wrong. Hell I haven't been to church more than 10 times in the last 4 years. I never have and never will pretend to know all things and pass those judgments on to other people. It seems to be an o.k. thing to do on your side of the topic though.

I look at nature and I see intelligent design. You look at it and see a giant accident. Who's right... hell if I know but I see know harm in having faith in a higher power.

The Messiah is supposed to bring peace on earth. I do not see peace on earth. There are acts of war everywhere, being perpetrated by those of all religions, including non-believers, every day, all over the world. Many in the name of whatever religion they believe in.

they were wrong
A man also took his dead child in an ice chest across a couple states because he thought a pastor could raise him from the dead. Does that mean there is no God or that some people are idiots and lunatics?

Sounds like your folks weren't all there. Sounds like you've had a lot of experience with tragedy, chaos, "religion" and religious zealots.

Simply because you're still here. I presume these things happened to you after you were baptized, which at that point you had already been initiated to the house. So it seems as though gods got your back like it or not.
