Kerry's buttbuddy Chirac approved this action so I guess it passes the "global test".
Using soldiers as police is a really bad idea.

Not to mention you still haven't got over the "global test" mis-interpretation that everyone took the wrong way cause they weren't actually listening to what he was saying.
Good job on the ingnorance.

This is in the Ivory Coast, a former French colony that has been plagued by civil war and religious tension.
Recently the Ivory Coast government has promoted the rebel groups attacking foreigners, and many French there have been terrorized, so France had to bring in their military to kick some *** and restore order.
During the break in firing you can hear distant gunshot cracks coming into the French position, so yes, someone was sniping them or taking potshots.
Military playing the role of police? LOL!!
Man you must know nothing about international politics, because many policemen in various countries are trained to be soldiers, and have a much more difficult role than Police in the U.S.
I have an old photo of a Bosnian Serb policeman from their civil war in the early 90's, and you couldn't tell from the pic that he isn't a Soldier, with his Army helmet, RPG launcher, M70 assault rifle (Yugo AK copy), etc.

OK I hadn't heard that somebody was shooting at the frogs. I can see why they responded if that was the case. But still, 200 wounded because of a few potshots?
That's why I bring up the point about police vs. soldiers. Soldiers are for killing. Police are for law enforcement. If you use soldiers as police, people are going to get killed. It's what they do.
If you want to change my mind that mixing the two jobs is a bad idea, come up with a better example than Bosnia in the Mid-90's. What a disaster.
And can you stop with this kind of personal stuff: "so you know nothing!", "you must know nothing"? It's OK to have a discussion without insulting one's counterpart.
kthx
