From a different angle... Why are we spending so much effort in controlloing what is tought in schools in the mid-east... because children are very impressionable... If only one ideology is presented to them, what do you think they will feel is the 'right' thing?

Give me a break... You originally posted this, trying to tie it to some liberal extremist movement- but you failed to look into the entire story. You took the lady's word for it and questioned all other views.
You seem to be hanging on by a thread, just give it up and admit that this had nothing to do with liberal, anti-government extermism.

She had pictures of the Presidents on the wall, not Senators! Kerry has yet to become the 44th President so his picture doesn't belong on the wall.

We're arguing about a picture according to that article... where's the proof she was spitting out political propaganda to the children that can't vote!?

 

Don't know about you but logic tells me to believe the superintendent, principal, and Vice-Principal over a teacher. But hey I could be wrong. That's why I said it will be interesting to see what happens in this case.

Yes I suppose the whole administration staff would lie to cover up such a mistake but by doing so they would open themselves up to a huge libel lawsuit. Those people are not that stupid. They wouldn't take that position unless they had something to back themselves up.

There is no proof, but there is the other side of the coin, that the superintendant tells. Which was posted for us a few posts later.

By the same token wheres the proof that she just posted the picture and didn't spew political propaganda. There are people saying thats what she did. If you believe the media story that the teacher told then so be it. If you beleive the superintendent, vice-principal and principal so be it! Again it all comes down to who you gonna beleive.....

So you're taking hearsay over a piece of paper in a wooden frame that's part of a Presidental montage? Bush's picture was included in a "montage of presidents"... John F'n Kerry isn't the ****ing President so his picture need not apply! I don't get this at all and i've tried to keep an open mind with you.

I don't particularly like Bush, but he is the president and his picture up in a schoolroom is perfectly appropriate... especially along side previous presidents.

I remember going to public elementary school and seeing portraits of the presidents, going across the top of the wall near the ceiling, from George Washington to the present. Even in music and science classes! How is this wrong?!

OK you are confused here. Never once did I say it is wrong to have the presidents picture up in the classroom. I agree that Kerry's pic should not be up there as he is not the F'n president. What I take issue with is the version of the story that the teacher tells through the media. If you go back and read the press release from the school district they laid out their side of the story. That is no more hearsay than the teachers side of the story being told in the media.

I just tend to beleive the superintendent, vice principal and principal over the teacher because they say they can back up their statements with student interviews and such and the media account doesn't give any hard evidence. Read the statement from the superintendant here:
