No kidding I thought it was going to be a short-lived thread. I guess I was wrong.

I actually checked back in here because I have another running email with some Republican conservatives not too keen on Obama's election.

I'm starting to see his inexperience show up which is a little disheartening. However, having Hillary Clinton appointed on a far reaching international position does not really help our current finanacial economy as I would have hoped.

You're taking me too literally and ignoring the part where I actually make my point:

Just because you get paid a paltry sum for something does not negate the fact that it is forced (slave) labor.

Lots of nations have compulsory military service. Turkey, Israel, etc. Technically, that is not the same thing as a draft.

I kinda view them as the same, though.

Paul has had the honor of serving in active duty, maybe you should take his word for it just this time.

Isn't funny how the Socialists/Democrats complained that George W spent money like a drunken sailor in Manilla, but have no problem giving away ~$1 Trillion??

I can't speak for socialist/democrats but one difference I see is the "stimulus package" has specific projects and benefits explicit in it while W's shoveling hundreds of billions to criminal "bankers" seemed to disappear overnight.

They are all a bunch of crooks if you ask me, both sides of the aisle in DC and especially in the executive suites and Wall Street.

I have an equal problem with both. And I don't like the 180 degree spin of opinion when the shoe is on the other foot.

you know there's a TARP part deux in the works, right? aimed at bailing out... credit card lenders. the one group that acted less responsibly than the mortgage industry.
