Then everyone jumps on it as a way to further their own agenda. Pathetic.

Guns are cool...like i said before i have one. There are alot of reasons why there should be some new laws for guns, my main one is just to keep the families safe! I dont know if you guys have seem of heard whats going on in Salinas,Ca. but there has been so many shootings lately...even one at the Mall not that long ago... there ARE people who dont need to have access to guns for good reasons...and we just want our families safe..its all..
Most of those guns in those shooting were not bought legally anyways. So how is it keeping the guns out of the hands of the "shooters" by taking them out of the hands of people who deserve them?

Yes stand by your country whether you like whats going on or not. Personally i don't like Obama or Biden, but it is what the country voted for, so as a citizen of the U.S. this is what I'm stuck with. I will deal with it and still be part of my country. But sticking up for your country only when you like who is in office is just being a hypocrit.
i never had much faith in the words that people in office say. i can only go by the way that they talk and what they do. Obama is a great speaker, i feel charged up and confident when i hear the amount of passion and strength that he puts out. i hope he can deliver. Work starts tomorrow, so we'll see.

I don't know why people are so worried about their guns when the 2nd Amendment; one of the oldest has not been repealed. As I've said before, "The right to bear arms" as far as this gun crazy totting country is concerned will not be repealed. BTW, compared to other countries the US is not comparable to being gun crazy....lol, in the Philippines it was almost surprising not to have a gun in your house.
Great speech by Obama holding the people accountable. I still remember all the people in early 2001 with new homes on sub-prime loans (0 down) that did not truly take into account how much of a long-term investment that asset was.
However, I just wish more of the golden parachute CEOs that ran their companies to the ground while being exempt from prosecution would be accountable instead of the general concensus. I'm sure Enron execs as examples was a good start but not enough.
With Bush Jr. in office; these crooks were pretty much untouchable and with lower tax brackets then when Clinton was in office.
Just for reference the Clinton administration took 6 years to get back in the black from a 300 billion dollar deficit that Bush Sr. left. On top of that it was also a recession, that he entered into.
Something to ponder which was a good sign when Obama was putting his cabinet together; he is staffing the same experienced people that was in that same Clinton administration that got us out of that previous debt. So it's an experienced crew that has dealt with this before.
BTW, I was a Rodham-Clinton supporter when the elections were running all the way through. I did not feel Obama had the right plan in place to correct this economy but his moves after he was elected has changed my viewpoint quite a bit. IMHO, it's a great direction.

Exactly, but i know of two of my friends who got accidentally shot when they were out hunting with their families. No one thought that the person who shot them was incapable of holding a firearm no longer, just **** happens and you move on from it.

there was no surplus, it was statistically fabricated.

While not defending the increase of the federal debt under President Bush, it is aggravating seeing Clinton's record promoted as having generated a surplus. It never happened. There was never a surplus and the cold hard facts support that position. In fact, far from a $360 billion reduction in the national debt in FY1998-FY2000, there was an increase of $281 billion.

Its not obama im worried about really, its ****ing biden that sack of ****.
hes the one who made the california assault weapon ban in the first place.
only 3% of violent crimes an assault weapon is involved.
The majority of weapons involved are stabbing instruments.
KNOW WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON BEFORE YOU START BANNING **** YOU IDIOT.
You are taking firearms away from civilians who may need them for protection. Criminals will ALWAYS get firearms regardless.
Oh man its a bad day. im pissed. im going to clean my rifle
