How bout you? I know you told me, but aren't you a recent grad of OBC/BLC? What're your orders telling you?

Actually I did that stuff a while back. Times have changed big time. And a 14 minute for a 37 year old isn't bad at all.

I know what you mean...I sucked @ pushups & sit ups but could run like mother ****er.
2 miles in 11:30 wasn't bad.
Now I don't think I could walk 2 miles.
On the positive side, can you retire next year?
Yesterday, I mentioned to mrs. oaf how next year would have been my retirement from the Army.

Nah. Since I got out in order to go to college (the 5yr plan), my new date is 2011. Essentially, I was in the reserves the entire 5yrs I was in college, with the last 2 as an SMP, so all of the USAR/ROTC time has been prorated.
Long story as short as possible, but I kind of screwed myself because in summer '91 I heard about the 90-day early ETS to go to college. I didn't have an overly positive time as an enlisted man, so I couldn't get out soon enough. I hadn't even thought about going to college before that. I got out with 3yrs/9mos/23days.
Then at the end of my 3rd year, I'd about drank all of my GI Bill/ACF up and knew I wasn't headed anywhere; that, paired with my revitalized love of the Army after I'd become a DS in the Reserves and had gotten to push troopies for a couple of summers, lead me over to the ROTC bldg to check out what they had to offer.
Even with my USAR time prorated, I somehow still never qualified for -E pay and didn't get much for retirement credit neither.
11:30 was smoking and is even moreso now with the max being 13:18 for 18y/o's. Best I ever ran was as a cadet. When I was enlisted, I ran 12:30 like clockwork. Then when I was a cadet preparing for 'camp', I ran an 11:59...once.
