NO NO NO NO...... y'all need to read between the lines. The trend outlined is not about multiculturalism, but the domination of one particular ethnicity through rapid procreation. There will be exponential growth because of one particular ethnic group of children will be having kids again in 20 years, AS THE ARTICLE SAYS.

Do you realize that your 'reading between the lines' is based on opinion? The only fact is that the minority population is growing quickly. Everything else is opinion. Exprert opinion says that the growth is ok, maybe even good, for the country. YOU say it's bad for the country and that the minorities are consiously trying to 'dominate' the country. I'll take the expert opinion over yours any day, especially because this is not the first time your xenaphobia has erupted in a fury of ignorant ranting.

 

There are several misleading statements that confuse the average reader from the facts of the article.

Multiculturalism is good, but didn't you read the last two paragraphs? Asians (likely including pac islanders, "asians", and folks from India..Asia) are growing via immigration WHICH IS GOOD. They boost our economy and make our country more productive. Hispanics on the other hand are invading by the millions and growing exponentially WHICH IS BAD. Illegals drain our welfare net and fill prisons, drive down the cost of labor and take labor jobs legal citizens want to do.

When the author talks about education, is he talking about Asians which are notoriously well-studied and quick to assimilate, or was he talking about Mexicans who want bilingual classes and resist English-only?

Yes, multiculturalism is a great ideal, but THAT'S NOT WHAT THE ARTICLE WAS ABOUT. THE ARTICLE WAS ABOUT WHITES AND BLACKS BECOMING HISTORY AND MEXICANS CLEANING THE ASIAN-AMERICANS' TOILETS.

It's widely admitted that the exact same thing is happneing in europe. It directly coinsides with the border and immigration policies of the nations.

I don't nescessarily have a problem with the change in ethno-demographics as I do with the failure of assimilation to the culture. What worries me is that many in an effort not to abandon thier own culture, are not adopting the culture of the country who has taken them in, thus engaging in self segregation.

I do admit what's 'going on'. I know that we will soon be a country with no ethnic majority. What I don't understand is why the conservatives here think that is a bad thing.


Illegal immigration is bad, we know that, we disagree on how to stop it. Diversification and multiculturalsim is not bad in my opinion, and there is no reason to want to stop it.

I agree. But this particular article doesn't really address that issue; Helladumb was trying to misuse an article to proove his point, and I wanted to point that out.


In fact, this article shows that a lot of the kids are learning English very quickly in certain immersion programs in high-immigration areas. I would say that's a step in the right direction.
