Funny story. Got popped for carrying concealed in SF on the street. Some lady saw my pisol as I was in a comprimising position grabbing somthing off the ground called the cops and I was basically approached by three officers at gunpoint and laid out. After I was finally allowed to produce my bage and ID the very polite cop threated to confiscate my weapon and arrest me. Somthing about the liberal azs hippies being so afraid of guns there is a law in SF that other agencies cannot carry in the city. I kindly informed the cop that thier lame law was trumped by federal law passed by GHWB and I can pack a peice where ever I want. I hate gun controll. BTW let em all have full autos the accuracy sucks and they run out of bullets faster.

This is the most ignorant statement regarding this issue.
The OK Corral involved the police shooting civilians, some of which were alleged criminals.
Read "More Guns, Less Crime", look at the stats, etc.
You have no right to police protection!
If you call 9-1-1, the police do not have to respond, end of story.
Response time in my neck of the woods is 30 minutes if I'm lucky.
Exactly, why in the hell would I wait or even make a phone call for that matter when my life is being threatened to have a guy that is likely not even close to as trained as I am in the use of firearms. It doesn't make sense. To think the government has the right to limit my ability to protect myself is bull****.
Yup, outside of New Orleans there are not too many robberies and that's because everyone in the state of Louisiana owns a weapon and Louisiana has a "shoot the intruder" law. If anyone breaks into your home you have every right to kill them in the state of Louisiana, no questions asked. In New Orleans I always carry a concealed weapon. If all the law abiding citizens carried them how many robberies do you think there would be? Not many.

2) I have my marksmanship medals. I do just fine. I invite anyone to try me using themselves as a target.
3) Really? If you think they're the same, then you should be content with a zip gun.

10.
Tresspassing outside of the house, no biggie.
Inside my house, huge problem that will end poorly for the intruder.

Sorry...I missed this post.
I'd like one of each of the following:
1. Select fire, 5.56mm rifle.
2. Semi auto .45 cal pistol.
3. 12 gauge pump shotgun.
4. heavy barrel 7mm - 338 cal long rifle.
I got a Rifle Marksmanship Merit Badge too!
Do I get to shoot back?
I read that as "why is an AR 15 treated like a zip gun?"
1) Just because you have no written law that says the police must protect you, even though it's written on the side of the cruiser, doesn't mean that you are the police for everyone else. This is in reference to people thinking their safer with 100 guns, rather than 6.

Better recognize That's cool, I'm not the one calling people out.
As long as you use a zip gun and I get the AR15.
I read that as "Now lets compare an AR15 to a zip gun since neither one is sold at WalMart".

Edit: I take that back as it was a bad example and I just saw a hot pic of Jessica Biel and I wanted to tie that into the discussion. But I digress. There's nothing on either side of the discussion to sway me enough to think of current gun regs to be helpfull or unhelpful.

I've never believed in owning more than one type of each weapon for a few reasons. First, because they're expensive and I work on government wages. Secondly, because I can only shoot one at a time. Thats why I stress quality over quantity. As mentioned above, I'll take 1 .45, 1 AK or AR series, 1 shotgun and one long gun. Thats all I ask. They don't even have to be fully-auto.

So did this guy:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Whitman
He was a damn good shot
I am as well, (shot and eagle scout) and I don't shoot too much. If I had done so more regularly, I'd definitely be shooting competition for a while now.
Too bad, I'm still a damn good shot.
