Gay cowboys? This is an assault and deliberate disrespect for anything masculine in our society. Obviously, you and other libs in here have already been de-balled!
Like I said, we only disagree on the definition of words in the gallup poll. There is a world of difference between what is "tolerated," and what is "accepted."

The gallup poll "suggests" that approximately 50% now accept the lifestyle! Now does that mean they accept it in their own family, or merely tolerate it? Think about it. 99% of the population can indeed be disgusted by gay media yet still tolerate the sexual choices of others, right?

The gallup poll also indicates that many people think gay acts should be illegal! I alread indicated that I was surprised by that... That lifestyle is a choice in a free society that I tolerate, but I don't think it should be illegal.

Nothing this poll suggests is directly contrary to what I've said.

Once again, I'd like the link so I can use this in the future .

[QUOTE=lojasmo][QUOTE=HellaDumb]I love you man! I agree with all of that, and I think it backs up what I said. Those gallup results suggest I was probably overly generous in my assumptions. Heck, the gallup results indicate that a large portion of our country still thinks homosexual acts should be illegal!

Sodomy was illegal until about a year ago when the supreme court declared anti-sodomy laws unconstitutional.

Take as an analogy, anti drug laws. If anti-marijuana laws get declared unconstitutional, a year after that, a sizeable plurality of people will still think it should be illegal.
Give it a couple of years hella, at that time, only dumbasses like you will still think homosexuality should be illegal.
Raises BS flag..... huh ummm..

Nobody here is saying gay acts should be illegal, and not all states had such laws. As far as I know, such laws were gender-blind, and often prohibited other sexual acts besides the missionary position.

The gallup poll and supreme court striking these laws had nothing to do with people thinking that such acts should be illegal today, because most people didn't even know these laws were still on the books.

"Gallup’s recent Values and Beliefs survey shows that a majority of Americans accept the idea that homosexual relations between consenting adults should be legal and that homosexuality is an acceptable way of life. The acceptance of homosexuality as legal is now at the 60% level, up from 52% last year "

Hey Lojasmo, do you catch the misleading wording here? It says "acceptance of homosexuality as legal," which implies that people who don't think it should be illegal accept homosexuality (not true). You can tolerate many things without accepting them in your life. Again.... "tolerate" vs. "accept."

I like using the flaws in Gallup results in my favor, but I have to seriously discount what they are saying. I don't believe 40% of Americans want gay acts to be illegal... do you agree?

I don't make the same inference that you do

My guess would be closer to 30% But the evidence says different. Small difference, either way. I'm taking Gallup's opinion over both yours and mine.

No see there are these things called females, and not only do they cook, clean, and have kids but they ALSO SUCK *****. So no matter what your uncle told you when you were 10 that "secret hand shake" you used to give him is no secret. And it isnt only done between uncles and their nephews...
