I hope that you know that you need to upgrade your dust shields if you want the 290mm rear rotor to fit. Or you can do what most people do, which is cut your dust sheild where the welds are. <--This is something that I do not recommend.

I think that if you do any upgrade you should do it right. I mean that if you should use the correct dust shield, mounting points, etc. Because when things are designed they are deisgned for a reason. I feel that if you remove the dust shield portion of the rear bracket, you increase the chance of getting something like a stone caught between the pads and rotor. Even though you might think that removing that piece will help out airflow, it probably does almost nothing but provide a bit more protection.
