What else can I do to stiffen up the front end?

Question What else can I do to stiffen up the front end?

Will a GC8 front Sway bar work on a NA 2.5RS?

So I'm fairly certain that a true GC8 Sway bar will not work with a non turbo cross member. However I need stiffen up the front end and I already have a STB.

My current setup consists of:

Cusco 21mm Rear sway bar
Cusco Carbon Rear strut tower brace
Cusco **Rear** Lower Arm bar
Cusco Rear V-Brace
Cusco Front Type AS Strut Tower Brace
Whiteline Rear lateral links
Whiteline Heavy Duty Steel Links (Front and Rear)

The rear end is highly stiff but the front end needs more rigidity. If you guys have any ideas on what i could use to stiffen up the front suspention please let me know

I would really like a cusco front sway bar but i am not certain what else you can use it. The only suspention components I don't have up front are cusco front sway bar, alks, front lower control arms. I guess springs and struts too but I plan on getting coil overs.

So the question is can I use the sway bar, and what else can i do to stiffen up the front end.

Thanks for your time
Larry

the cusco front lower braces dont work with USDM GC8's. the tanabe one does according to revolutions motorsports and tanabe.

a 22mm front sway bar will work ofcrouse... and alk would work well too.

Maybe some Sti top mounts? It's what I'm using.

Without stiffer springs and strut tops, the rest of that stuff is really just decoration. That should be your next mod, followed by an anti-lift kit or STi GroupN bushings on the control arms. Once those are done, the bracing you have will be more effective.

Also, by Cusco Lower Arm Bar, are you referring to the one that mounts between the rear control arms? The front 4 piece doesn't bolt up to a 2.5 crossmember, nor will a front swaybar meant for a turbo car.

Just a FYI....cusco does indeed make a lower arm bar for the GC8.

they do, but only for the EDM/JDM GC chassis cars with turbo manifolds and crossmemebers. they do make the rear one like he has, but the only front that fits the USDM non-turbo GC8 is the tanabe one.

Oh jeez. Sorry for the confusion. The rear bar is between the rear lateral control arms. near the rear diff. I apologize for the poor description of parts in the first post.

it should read:
Cusco Rear Lower Arm Bar

I still have a virtual stock front setup. Just the strut tower and endlinks. I have some sti v5 limited springs in my garage.

but I'm worried about rubbing. they drop the car 1.2 or 1.5 inches. And I just got new tires.

So i don't want rub any more.

On a side note, The tires are 215.45.17 toyo T1-s .. As for my recommendation I'd say yes. or hell yes. Nice in the dry. but great in the wet.

I'll post some pics of my suspension once i get some rear lateral arms in. and possibly my springs.

Thanks for your time guys

You shouldn't have a problem with those tires rubbing on the v5 springs.

Actually, the rear one does help more than the front, because the fronts are so close to the firewall. Neither one is that important before you have springs and struts though.
