Are STi Brembos w/ 6500 mi on them supposed to squeel when hot and cold?

Nope. replace your pads and turn your rotors, should solve the problem. See if the dealer will warranty it of course.

Yes, it means putting them on a lathe and removing a few thousands of an inch off the surface to get pad deposits off and smooth out any grooves.

Improper break-in can lead to (very) premature pad and/or rotor failure. Try re-bedding your brakes following the instructions posted on Stoptech's website.

If you do a search this is a common trend with the Brembos on the STI mine squealed swapped stock pads for some Project Mu squealing gone. Dosen't mean your rotors need turned or that your pads are bad but many people swap out pads and squealing goes away.

I have an 05 STI with almost 1k miles on it, I don't have any squealing but the brakes do make a weird noise when I brake when going to a stop. Its almost like a brushing sound.

Yes new pads do require proper bedding or I believe they can become glazed and not grab as they should. StopTech has a good write up on their site on bedding in pads I used the info from their site to bed my pads.
