REVIEW: Cusco Zero-2R's with 10kg/12kg Springs
I just installed my new Zero-2R's last night on my 04 STi with the help of some friends (2.5DOHC, 18hr and ShinRS...thanks guys!).
I purchased these through Alex and per his opinion, I ordered the stiffer spring rates, which are 10kg for the front and 12kg for the rear. Alex calls this set up the "Tarmac Setup". At first I was very skeptical regarding the stiffer springs, but once everything was installed (Front and rear Cusco strut tower bars and the suspension) and we took it for a ride, I was impressed.
The car rides a lot smoother than the stock STi springs, and in my opinion is less bouncy than standard Zero-2's and Zero-2R's. I've ridden in cars with the standard spring rates with Zero-2's and Zero-2R's, and I must say this set up feels very solid. The struts are valved for higher spring rates to begin with, so naturally it would feel better with the stiffer springs.
I'm not saying that the suspension isn't stiffer than stock, because it is...it's just more compliant (if I had to use one word) and not as harsh as the stockers. The feedback is more positive than the standard springs and the car feels all around more stable. I have the dampening set at 3 (midway) for now. I'll have an opportunity to test it out at SCCA next weekend and a Test and Tune event tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted on how it feels.
If you are looking for a good racing set-up, this is the way to go. I've had TEIN HA's and Bozzspeed coilovers in the past, and by far, these are the best.

Hey Alex!
[QUOTE=Imprezer]Correction, 12front/10rear.
Hey Alex. . .
. . . How much do those spring sets cost (12k fronts/10k rears) for the 02R's? Also what other spring sets/rates are there for the 02R's?
Thanks.

Not trying to hijack this thread but would someone be kind enough to email me a scanned copy of the owner's manual for the zero2R ?? Would really appreciate it.
